About the role
We are seeking to recruit a Quality and Assessments Officer in the Faculty of Science and Engineering who will play a key role in supporting quality assurance and assessment processes for our taught programmes. The postholder will manage and coordinate processes around academic misconduct cases and examination paper production, including moderation, scrutiny committees and liaison with external examiners. They will also support the Quality Manager on Faculty Education Committees and Subject Examination Boards, contributing to continual improvements in programme design, curriculum management and the assessment of learning. This is a hybrid role, with opportunities to work at Queen Mary’s Mile End Campus and remotely.
About You
This role would suit someone with experience of quality assurance, examinations or assessment administration in Higher Education. The successful candidate will be highly organised, confident working with data, and able to communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders including academic staff, students and external examiners. You will have a detailed understanding of Higher Education regulations and procedures, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and experience of servicing committees and supporting regulatory processes. About the Faculty of Science and Engineering
The Faculty of Science and Engineering comprises of five Schools that deliver the research and education activity of the Faculty. The Faculty has a wide range of key interactions with partner organisations, including with overseas partners, other Government departments, research and education networks, funders and regulators. The role sits within the Professional Services job family and the role holder is expected to be an active part of the University’s support staff family, working with academic colleagues across a wide range of responsibilities to help deliver its academic mission.
