Glasgow Caledonian – the largest and leading modern university in Scotland - is a vibrant, values-led university with campuses in the heart of Glasgow and London. With a strong commitment to high quality education and research which supports the communities we serve, we have strong partnerships with employers to ensure our students get the careers they dream of and deserve.
Named UK Modern University of the Year for Graduate Jobs in the latest Daily Mail University Guide, and the top-ranked UK modern university in the Times and Sunday Times Guide 2026, we are a UK top 40 university according to these highly regarded guides. We are the only Scottish university with EcoCampus Platinum accreditation and were ranked first in Scotland for sustainability in the most recent People and Planet league table (2024).
Guided by our values – integrity, responsibility, creativity and confidence - we transform the lives of the people and communities we serve.
To support our continuing growth, we are seeking to appoint a new Lecturer in Operations and Supply Chain Management within the Department of Management, located within Glasgow School for Business and Society. The School is third in Scotland for overall student satisfaction for Business and Management (Chartered Association of Business Schools, 2022). The School delivers undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in the area of international business, social innovation, management, and operations/supply chain management, with programmes accredited by CMI, CIPS and CILT.
As a Lecturer in Operations and Supply Chain Management you will have a focus on providing high-quality learning and teaching that is underpinned by scholarly activity. We are keen to receive applications from people who will enhance our delivery of and reputation in Operations and Supply Chain Management and related subject areas. Applicants hold a relevant doctoral qualification, ideally in the Operations and Supply Chain Management subject area. Applicants are able to demonstrate significant recent experience of both research, as well as teaching at both undergraduate and postgraduate level, within the UK education context. Track record of Publications, Income generation and Industry experience will be considered an advantage.
Lecturers are expected to contribute to the delivery and assessment of existing modules, supervision, and the enhancement of the student experience across the range of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes such as our BA (Hons) Business Management, MSc International Operations & Supply Chain Management, and MSc International Business Management. Prior experience of supporting student learning, teaching and assessment in the UK higher education sector is essential.
The Department of Management promotes innovation in learning and teaching and, therefore, we are keen to appoint an individual with up-to-date experience of enhancing and enriching the learning experience. A higher education teaching qualification and/or Fellow status with AdvanceHE is desirable. The post holders will also be expected to contribute to ensuring curricula are current and compliant with internal and external regulatory frameworks.
