The role
Library Assistant (Library Support Team)
Hours: 21 per week
Fixed term: until 31 July 2026
Work Pattern: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday 9.00-5.00 *
Includes: All Bank Holidays and University Closure Days that fall within the work pattern, including exceptional UK holidays.

This campus based role offers an exciting opportunity to join the Library Customer Services Team to provide accessible and inclusive front line services to students and researchers across the University.
Library Support is a dedicated team within Customer Services. You will support disabled and dyslexic students to use both physical and digital resources for study and research.
What will you be doing?
Responsibilities include:
Meeting students recommended for additional services via face-to-face drop-ins and appointments and online meetings.
Dealing with enquiries and referrals for support via a busy mailbox and SharePoint site.
Providing additional support through book collection and scanning.
Obtaining or creating accessible library resources to support access for disabled students.
Supporting students to use the physical spaces across our libraries and study spaces, including setting up access to the library support dedicated study spaces.
Assisting with Library Support events, tours, and workshops.
You should apply if
You have excellent communication and customer focus skills and experience of working in a fast-paced, front facing service environment. Support will include triaging IT issues to enable students to flourish in a blended learning context.
You have a keen interest and enthusiasm for using technology apps and tools to support student learning.
