About the role

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our team for a 12-month parental leave cover post. Working predominantly in a clinical environment, you will play a key part in teaching and assessing final-year veterinary undergraduates during their Small Animal Anaesthesia and Surgery (SAAS) and Small Animal Consulting (SAC) rotations.

This role combines hands-on clinical work in our Clinical Associate practices with the supervision, support and assessment of students as they develop their practical skills and professional behaviours. You will work closely alongside a qualified veterinary surgeon, delivering teaching as a cohesive team and supporting students together in both anaesthesia and consulting settings. You will also contribute to the delivery of our innovative undergraduate curriculum, collaborating with veterinary surgeons, veterinary nurses and fellow educators to provide an exceptional student learning experience.

About you

You will be a qualified and registered veterinary nurse with strong experience in first-opinion small animal practice and confidence in delivering clinical care. You will bring excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a collaborative approach to working within multidisciplinary teams, and enthusiasm for supporting the learning and development of final-year veterinary students.

You should be comfortable supervising students in a busy clinical environment, offering constructive feedback, and acting as a positive role model for professional behaviours. As the role involves working across multiple Clinical Associate practices, you will be adaptable, organised, and confident in adjusting to different team dynamics, workflows, and clinical environments. A full drive license is also required due to needing to travel to various sites and sometimes at short notice.

Experience in student supervision or teaching is desirable, but an interest in developing your educational skills and contributing to an innovative clinical curriculum is equally valued.

  • A hybrid working arrangement with the blended approach of home and office working each week
