About the Role

Applications are sought for an exciting opportunity within the Barts Clinical Trials Unit, as a Trial Coordinator. The holder will be responsible for the coordination and delivery of studies in genetic testing, risk prediction, cancer prevention and detection and management. These studies will evaluate use of novel direct to patient genetic testing strategy following cancer diagnosis as well as explore a new paradigm of unselected population testing in unaffected women.

The Wolfson Institute of Population Health harnesses expertise across a wide range of population-based research and education activities and aims to be an internationally recognised centre of excellence in population health and preventive medicine.

The post-holder will be a staff member of the Centre for Evaluation and Methods (CEM), a thriving research centre that incorporates four collaborative units who work closely together to deliver outstanding research based on their combined and complementary research strengths. The post-holder will be line managed via Barts CTU (in CEM) but will primarily sit within the Women’s Precision Prevention team in the Cancer Prevention Unit which also runs other studies in relation to gynaecological cancer and surgical prevention which can require support.

About You

You should possess a relevant undergraduate degree and have experience in coordination of clinical trials including supporting trial recruitment, site set-up and management, liaising with site staff, vendor activities, data and specimens management, and communications to Ethics committees and/or regulatory bodies as applicable. You will be responsible for setting up study sites, data management processes, and managing vendors as applicable. You will be responsible for ensuring trials are run in compliance with all governance and Barts CTU requirements. You will be required to demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills across a wide range of colleagues and via various meetings and oversight committees.
