About the Role
We are recruiting a Residential Operations Manager to join the senior team in Residential Services. This full-time, permanent role requires the post holder to participate in an out-of-hours on-call rota (one week in three). The postholder needs to be within a one-hour commute to campus while on call. To assist with any relocation challenges, a one-bedroom flat on campus is offered for an initial period of 12 months, after which this provision will be reviewed.
The role manages a team of six, overseeing 2,160 rooms in twenty residential buildings on three campuses and leads on the department’s operational compliance with the UUK Code of Practice and all relevant health and safety legislation. The postholder will continually develop the residential experience for students, commercial guests and summer school participants through strong partnerships with other Estates and Facilities departments, including Capital Projects, Cleaning, Fire Safety, Maintenance and Security. The post holder will also be building confidence and experience in customer engagement within the existing halls manager team and raise their profile with residents through a more consistent and visible presence in halls.
This role focuses on operational delivery and demands flexibility for a 24/7 service. It includes some weekend work and requires professional collaboration with the Commercial Services and Housing Services teams.
