The role

The Faculty Executive Team in Arts, Law & Social Sciences is looking to appoint an outstanding full-time Executive Administration Manager on a secondment basis.  The role-holder will be key in driving forward the effective and efficient delivery of executive administration to the Faculty Leadership Team.    

You will be responsible for managing the day-to-day administrative functions and service provision of the Faculty and you will lead the Faculty’s dedicated group of administrators to ensure the team delivers high-quality support.  The Executive Administration Manager will need to demonstrate independence and initiative to react to changing priorities and work circumstances, with scope to make decisions and develop working practices in their own remit.  

What will you be doing?

You will lead and manage the delivery of the Faculty’s executive administration services. 

Key duties include: 

  • Leading on the provision of executive support for the Faculty and being responsible for managing day-to-day administrative issues.
  • Managing the executive support team of the Faculty of Arts, Law & Social Sciences including managing workloads, blended working/office rotas, recruitment, induction, training, staff development, and team performance to ensure continuous improvement and professional standards are achieved.  
  • Provide high-level executive support to the Faculty Leadership Team; triaging emails and responding by drafting complex and/or confidential correspondence where appropriate to resolve problems, using judgement and initiative. 
  • Undertaking desk-top research and providing information and/or presenting data/reports in meetings. 
  • Organising internal and external events. 
  • Overseeing diary management activities and PA support functions of entire team to ensure that the support is holistic, pro-active and timely. 
  • Service senior level committees and meetings as required.

  • You have excellent organisational and prioritisation skills, and are able to delegate effectively.  
  • You have a proactive approach and are proactive in improving processes and maintaining a high level of accuracy. 
  • You have excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Contract type: Fixed Term Cover role until 31/12/2026 

Hybrid Working: Yes. 4 days on campus (1 day WFH to be determined but must be on campus on Monday and Friday)
