Applications are invited for the appointment of a Specific-Purpose Contract post of Lecturer in Geography (Type A, 0.5 FTE) at University of Galway.
The Lecturer will assist in the delivery of the MA in Planning & Development programme for AY25-26 only. The tasks include: Design and delivery of programme lectures; design and delivery of student assessment; supervision of and administrative support for student summer internships, portfolio development and research projects; field-trip design and delivery; provision of academic mentoring and pastoral support to students; assistance with design and preparation of the academic programme content and schedule for AY2026-27 in line with professional accreditation standards; support with programme administration, in particular delivery of programme accreditation requirements; sustain existing industry and key stakeholder partnerships and develop new ones; have an active research profile in relevant planning-related fields with recent peer-reviewed publications. Candidates must have a recognised postgraduate planning qualification, either Irish Planning Institute or Royal Town Planning Institute.
