A clinical Research Fellow is wanted to develop a Controlled Human Infection Model (CHIM) for hepatitis C virus (HCV CHIM). We are seeking an enthusiastic, clinically qualified candidate, with an interest in hepatology, virology, immunology and/or infectious disease for a clinical research fellowship in developing a hepatitis C virus (HCV) controlled human infection model (CHIM) over 3 years. You will be based in the Barnes Group at the Oxford Centre for Immuno-Oncology, Nuffield Department of Medicine. 

You will be the clinical lead for the HCV CHIM study, including recruitment, communication and all procedures with clinical trial volunteers and you will provide broad clinical support to the HCV CHIM program (working with the project team, including a project manager). Giving clinical input into study protocols and amendments and liaising with regulators is part of this role, as is willingness to work flexibly and on occasions, to work flexible hours as required to meet the goals of the project. You will maintain confidentiality regarding research data when interacting with non-collaborating researchers. 

It is essential that you hold a BSc degree, and are UK GMC registered Medical Practitioner with experience working full-time within the NHS as a doctor (at least completed both NHS Foundation training years), with a strong academic track record. You will be able to work independently in a responsible manner with a methodical and careful approach to academic work, and have skills and experience to deal effectively with conflicting priorities, meet tight deadlines, remain calm under pressure and work flexible hours when needed to support the study.
