About us
The Academic Policy, Quality and Standards team is centrally responsible for UCL’s quality review and enhancement, programme approval and amendment, and academic partnerships. The team also services a number of University committees and supports strategic Educational projects.
About the role
We are seeking a Senior Academic Policy and Quality Officer to join the Academic Policy, Quality and Standards team to undertake a range of tasks relating to quality review (including External Examining), course approval and amendment, academic partnerships and committee servicing.
You will provide expert advice and support to colleagues at all levels of the institution on matters related to academic policy development, compliance with quality and standards conditions, and education related governance. You will build and maintain relationships with key staff within a collection of faculties in a Faculty Liaison relationship. You will review and assure compliance with UCL’s regulations, policies and procedures relating to academic quality and standards to ensure a positive student experience and fair outcomes. You will ensure good education governance through the support of key education subcommittees, working groups and projects.
This role reports to an Academic Policy and Quality Manager, and you will be required to deputise for them, as appropriate.
About you
You will bring a strong understanding of the UK higher education sector and experience in implementing policies that balance continuous improvement with safeguarding quality and standards.
You have excellent written and verbal communication skills, are confident advising on policy matters and academic regulations, and are able to make complex information clear and accessible. You have a keen eye for detail, and experience of working with data to inform decisions.
You enjoy working collaboratively and building relationships at all levels across the institution to proactively support colleagues. You are highly organised and skilled at prioritising competing demands while keeping stakeholders engaged.
Experience supporting committees or working groups would be an added bonus.
