This post is full time and permanent, working 35 hours per week.

The Business Intelligence and Insight team sits at the heart of decision making at the university. As part of the Strategy, Planning & Performance department, we provide data, insight and advice that inform the direction and priorities of the institution. We’re looking for a Market and Portfolio Insight Lead to deliver clear, evidence-based insights that inform investment, recruitment and academic portfolio decisions. This role focuses on what the data means and the choices it enables. You will turn complex and sometimes incomplete information into concise narratives, options and recommendations that senior leaders can act confidently on.

You’ll lead on market and portfolio insight, supporting planning and investment decisions across the University. This will involve interpreting internal performance data alongside external market intelligence and producing concise executive briefings, option papers and portfolio reviews with clear implications and recommendations. You’ll partner with senior academic colleagues and professional service directors.

We’re looking for someone with strong analytical judgement who is comfortable advising senior stakeholders and focusing on what the data means, not just what it shows. You’ll enjoy working with ambiguity, framing choices and influencing decisions.

To succeed in this role, we’re looking for expertise in interpretation, judgement and influence above dashboard building.

This is a role for someone who wants their insight to drive real decision making and change, rather than simply sitting in a report.

Experience of UK higher education is desirable but not essential.
