The Department of Physics is looking to recruit an Outreach Administrator to work on the COMPOS (Comprehensive Oxford Maths and Physics Online School) Outreach programme. This post is fixed term until 31 August 2028, and is a remote/home working position primarily.

COMPOS is an expanding outreach programme run from the physics department which enrols more than 1000 students per year in Years 10-13 to take part in a year-long programme of weekly tutorials, assignments and webinars delivered online by a team of more than 100 tutors.

The goal of the programme is to boost state school pupils’ attainment and confidence in physics and maths, thereby increasing uptake in STEM courses at university. We require admin support to provide ongoing assistance with students and tutor queries, ongoing course administration, monitoring and reporting and school’s outreach.

About the Role

The postholder will act as first point of contact for the provision of timely administrative support for a wide range of tasks and processes and will identify priorities, exercise good judgement in resolving daily problems and have an awareness of when to consult or refer matters on. The postholder will also be responsible for administrative arrangements for a range of activities such as coordinating events, scheduling meetings, organising tutorial group allocations and drafting correspondence. They will also track and monitor student attendance, monitor tutor compliance and assist with data analysis.

About You

The postholder will have excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage and prioritise a varied workload and to work to deadlines. They will also have high attention to detail and a high level of accuracy and experience of providing a high standard of administrative support. The postholder will also have good numeracy skills and excellent customer service and computer skills.
