Scholarships for postgraduate students are central to Oxford’s mission. The Student Fees and Funding (SFF) office manages scholarship programmes and supports funding partners including colleges, academic departments, and external organisations. SFF oversees more than 210 University scholarship programmes for around 1,700 students, with a combined value exceeding £62m per year.
Our Scholarships team is friendly, supportive, and expanding from 12 to 14 members. The team’s size and experience ensure new colleagues are well supported and able to settle in quickly and succeed.
You will also work closely with the Africa Oxford Initiative (AfOx), a cross-university platform that promotes equitable and sustainable research collaborations between Oxford and African universities, and increases the number of African students pursuing postgraduate study at Oxford.

About the Role
This varied and rewarding role involves working closely with AfOx on the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program, while leading other scholarship schemes.
The Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program is an ambitious partnership supporting passionate, locally rooted, globally minded African young people to undertake graduate study at Oxford. A key focus is managing the annual selection process for new Scholars and providing support throughout their studies.
You will also contribute to the financial administration of a wider scholarship portfolio as part of SFF’s scholarships finance team.
We are ideally seeking someone who meets the selection criteria; however, we are committed to development and welcome applications from candidates with transferable skills and motivation to grow in the role.
About You
You will be innovative, highly organised, and detail-oriented, with the ability to build strong working relationships with partners. Using your numeracy and IT skills, you will proactively enhance scholarship administration processes, ensuring funding continues to make a meaningful difference to students’ lives.
