We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Research Assistant to join the Department of Materials, Design and Manufacturing Engineering. This role is central to a pioneering project aimed at revolutionizing dermatological testing by 3D bioprinting. You will work on the development and validation of a miniaturized, vascularized human skin-on-a-chip platform integrated with a living microbiome. You will operate at the intersection of bio-manufacturing and Preclinical application. In collaboration with our industrial partner, you will help bridge the gap between academic innovation and industrial product testing and contribute to the reduction of animal testing in the skincare and medical sectors.
You will be responsible for the day-to-day execution of laboratory experiments, focusing on the fabrication, maintenance, and analysis of 3D bioprinted skin models.
This part-time post (0.5 FTE) is fixed term and available for 6 months.
