We are currently seeking a Mental Health Practitioner to join our vibrant and supportive multidisciplinary team within Bath Spa University.
You will support students experiencing mental distress by delivering mental health interventions through both one-on-one sessions and group settings, facilitating crisis assessments and providing immediate intervention when needed.
About the Role
You will provide individual support to students experiencing psychological distress, including triage, risk assessment, safety planning, and appropriate internal and external referrals. The role involves delivering effective follow-up interventions and complex case management, liaising with GPs, NHS services, and University departments to ensure coordinated care.
You will work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, maintain strict professional boundaries and confidentiality, and contribute to service development and strong internal and external partnerships. The post includes supporting students through guided self-help approaches, maintaining accurate electronic records, and managing appointments independently.
Regular clinical supervision and line management meetings are integral to the role, alongside delivering consultancy, training, and maintaining up-to-date knowledge of best practice within the higher education sector.
