King’s College London is a world‑renowned university with a strong commitment to creating positive and sustainable change through outstanding education, impactful research, and meaningful service to society. We are proud to be ranked 31st globally (QS World University Rankings 2026) and 36th in the world (Times Higher Education World Rankings 2025). As part of our deep and long‑standing collaboration with NHS partners through King’s Health Partners, we work closely across academic and clinical boundaries to advance health and life sciences. The Director of Strategic Delivery (Health & Life Sciences) is a pivotal leadership role at the centre of one of the UK’s most influential academic–health ecosystems. Reporting directly to the Senior Vice President (SVP) Health & Life Sciences, you will act as the SVP’s trusted strategic partner, advisor, and problem solver. Operating with significant autonomy, you will work closely with senior leaders across King’s College London’s faculties, particularly the health faculties, to drive the academic vision for health and life sciences across King’s, including with its major NHS Trust partners, Guy’s and St Thomas’s, King’s College Hospital, and South London and Maudsley.
This is a rare opportunity for someone who thrives in complexity, navigates ambiguity with confidence, and builds strong, credible relationships at every level, from senior university leaders to clinical partners. The role requires executive‑level leadership with the ability to influence across complex organisational structures, supported by sound judgement, strong political acumen, and the discretion needed to navigate sensitive issues. It calls for someone adept at connecting workstreams, integrating activity across teams, and breaking down silos to drive collective progress.
The post‑holder will need notable analytical skills to distil complex information into clear insight and actionable recommendations, alongside excellent communication skills and a transparent, partnership‑focused approach to engaging diverse stakeholders. Advanced project and programme management capability is essential to ensure that strategic initiatives are well‑structured, efficiently delivered, and aligned with institutional priorities. In post, the Director will play a central role in coordinating strategic activity, shaping decision‑making, and ensuring effective delivery across the health and life sciences portfolio.

This is a full-time post (35 hours per week), and you will be offered a fixed term 12-month contract or until the return of the substantive post holder (maternity cover). The post holder is expected to be on campus at least 4 days a week.
