About the Role
This post contributes to the operational delivery of the Unit’s Specialist Tobacco Cessation Service and supports other projects and activities undertaken by the Unit, including research and teaching.
Locality Leads provide logistical and operational support to the Specialist Tobacco Cessation Service Manager by ensuring clinical governance compliance and service delivery aligns with local authority contract specifications. The role provides guidance to Stop Smoking Advisors, who deliver multi-session behavioural support to people who smoke or use other tobacco products and wish to quit. These roles act as the single point of contact with health and social care professionals and the wider team.
About You
The post requires a strong academic background and excellent communication skills to support effective engagement with members of the public and healthcare professionals. The role includes delivery of clinics outside normal office hours and therefore requires flexibility in working arrangements.
About the School/Department/Institute/Project
The Health and Lifestyle Research Unit, within the Centre for Public Health and Policy, is directed by Professor Hayden McRobbie. It provides Specialist Tobacco Cessation Services for three London boroughs, a Weight Management Clinic for Tower Hamlets, and conducts research into smoking and weight management. The team includes academic staff and operational service teams, comprising Research Health Psychologists, Research Fellows, Stop Smoking Advisors, and Administrators.
