About the Role
Applications are invited for the BHF-funded positions of Research Assistant within the Centre for Biochemical Pharmacology, Cardiovascular Immunology Team. The appointee will join a highly motivated team of scientists investigating the mechanisms of Cardiac Inflammation. Building on key discoveries from the Longhi lab, the project will use immunoassays, flow cytometry, transcriptomic and lipidomic, human and mouse models, to characterise lipid-autoreactive T cells in the context of atherosclerosis. The work addresses fundamental questions regarding how recognition of self-lipids by T cells cell contribute to tissue inflammatory in atherosclerosis, the underlying cause of heart attack and stroke.
About You
We are seeking an outstanding, self-motivated, and ambitious early-career researcher with a strong commitment to pursuing a scientific career. You will hold a PhD in cardiovascular biology or related discipline. Experience with conditional gene knockout technology, cell tracking, and/or single-cell RNA sequencing is desirable.
