Are you a brilliant Contract Manager who creates a collaborative and supportive team environment but who also isn’t afraid of disruptive ideas to improve efficiency and wellbeing?

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has experience in leading large PPP or PFI contracts.
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Analytical and Data Driven
  • A focus on governance and compliance
  • Is an effective communicator, collaborates and develops strong working relationships and networks;
  • Can develop a good sense of the bigger picture with any project or process, identifying and focusing on key risks and opportunities; and
  • Has a continuous improvement focus, seeks innovative solutions and implements transformational change to ensure efficient and effective services are delivered.

Estates and Facilities Management is an instrumental part of achieving the University of Sheffield’s strategic vision, underpinning the experience of our students, staff and visitors by providing high-quality, safe and sustainable campus environments. Within this portfolio, Accommodation Services plays a vital role in managing the residential estate and ensuring students have a safe, comfortable and well-maintained place to live. The department is responsible for the effective management of a diverse and complex accommodation portfolio, including building maintenance, lifecycle and asset management, statutory compliance and contractor oversight.

We have created this new role to provide dedicated leadership within Estates and Facilities Management, with a primary focus on managing the University’s long-term PPP student accommodation contract, ensuring best value, contract compliance and strong operational performance. In addition to the PPP arrangement, the role will oversee a range of smaller FM contracts, ensuring that they deliver high-quality services, represent value for money, and align with Estates and Facilities Management (EFM) standards and expectations.

You will be an excellent leader, capable of making informed judgments and empowering others to do the same. You will interpret and analyse performance and contract data, and identify opportunities to strengthen service delivery and contract performance. You will draw on sector best practice and bring forward innovative and effective ideas to enhance how Accommodation Services and EFM manage their contractual responsibilities.

You will join an employer that values and promotes equality, diversity and inclusion and supports staff to grow and progress.
