About the role
The Dickson Poon School of Law is seeking to appoint two Lecturers in Private Law who will contribute to the teaching, research, and other academic and professional activities at The Dickson Poon School of Law.
The successful candidates are expected to have completed or be demonstrably nearing the completion of a PhD by the starting date. They should be keen to gain further experience in a research–led teaching role with active involvement in the administration and academic life of a thriving law school.
The successful candidate’s principal teaching contribution will be in our undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, in Private Law subjects with an emphasis on the Law of Contract, Trusts, Property and/or Tort Law. Beyond the successful candidate’s subject specialism it is expected that they will have a solid generalist knowledge of common law Private Law subjects and an ability to impart this knowledge to undergraduate students.
In relation to their research, the successful candidate will have a demonstrably high potential to attract research funding, will be impact-focused and able contribute, if applicable, to the research priorities of the research centres in the School of Law.

This is a full-time (35 hours per week) post, and you will be offered an indefinite contract.
