Are you detail‑driven, curious, and looking to build a career in finance? We have a great opportunity to join the Finance, Planning and Governance Division as an Accounts Assistant, where you will play an important role in helping to keep the University’s financial records accurate, compliant and well-controlled.
You will be working with core financial processes such as daily cashbook postings, resolving finance-related queries, investigating suspense items, and supporting key reconciliation and compliance activities. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with data, following procedures, and using a questioning mindset to spot errors or unusual activity.
If you are interested in building a long‑term career with UEA, you will be supported to grow, including gaining exposure to other areas of the Finance function and the opportunity to pursue AAT or other apprenticeships as part of your professional development.
You will have a good standard of education, with passes at GCSE and Grades A-C, including Mathematics and English or equivalent qualification, as well as experience in handling financial data with accuracy. Strong Excel skills are essential, as well as excellent communication and organisational skills. You will be able to meet all essential criteria as detailed in the candidate brochure.
This full-time post is available from 20 April 2026 on an indefinite basis.
UEA offers a variety of flexible working options and although this role is advertised on a full-time basis, we encourage applications from individuals who would prefer a flexible working pattern including annualised hours, compressed working hours, part time, job share, term-time only and/or hybrid working. Details of preferred hours should be stated in the personal statement and will be discussed further at interview.
Further information on our great benefits package, including 34 days annual leave inclusive of Bank Holidays and additional University Customary days (pro rata for part-time), can be found on our benefits page.
Closing date: 24 March 2026
