Applications are invited for the post of Lecturer/Assistant Professor in Generational Renewal and Rural Viability in the Agribusiness & Rural Development Section of the UCD School of Agriculture & Food Science. The appointee will join a team of 18 full-time academics within the Section who work in the subject areas of rural development, agricultural extension, knowledge exchange, agricultural economics, farm business, and humanitarian action. The Section delivers a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate degree programmes in Food & Agribusiness Management, Agricultural Extension & Innovation Support, Sustainable Agriculture & Rural Development, Food Business Strategy, and Humanitarian Action.
The appointee will have specific expertise in Generational Renewal and Rural Viability that is relevant to agriculture, food and rural development, particularly in Ireland and the EU. They will be committed to developing this expertise through academic research and engagement with a broad cross section of public, private sector and civil society stakeholders, to sharing this expertise through teaching undergraduate and graduate students and to developing their discipline in the School, University and wider community.
The successful applicant will be offered a permanent post or 3-year temporary contract depending on their abilities and experience as assessed by the Interview Board.
95 Lecturer/Asst Professor Above the Bar (7943) Salary Scale: €65,401 - €103,564 Per Annum
Appointment will be made on scale and in accordance with the Department of Finance guidelines
