Role Description
The Centre for Reviews and Dissemination (CRD), an academic research department at the University of York is recruiting a Senior Research Fellow in Health Economics.

The successful applicant will work mostly within our Technology Assessment Review programme, undertaking research to support National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) decision making, and in our NIHR Evidence Synthesis Group programme, conducting research which supports a range of UK policy stakeholders. There will also be scope to develop HTA methods and opportunities to develop their own research proposals and apply for research funding.

Applications are welcome from candidates with a relevant PhD (or equivalent experience) and health economic and decision modelling experience. Candidates must have strong quantitative research skills and experience of critiquing, conceptualising and executing health economic decision modelling in an HTA context. They must be able to develop and lead research projects, supervise the work of early career researchers, work collaboratively as part of a team and to engage with external stakeholders. Excellent communication skills are essential to the role. Familiarity with UK health systems and with the UK research funding landscape is also required.

CRD is a friendly and supportive workplace. We embrace hybrid and flexible working patterns, enabling staff to work partly remotely (within the UK) according to the requirements of the role. We value diversity and are committed to equality of opportunity and fostering an inclusive culture where we can all be ourselves. CRD is also committed to helping to develop researchers’ long-term careers, which is reflected in this post having an open contract. CRD holds a Silver Athena Swan award.

This is a full-time position, but we will consider applicants who wish to work part-time provided this is at least 80% of a whole time equivalent (4 days per week).

For informal enquiries: please contact Professor Sofia Dias (sofia.dias@york.ac.uk).

The University strives to be diverse and inclusive – a place where we can ALL be ourselves.

We particularly encourage applications from people who identify as Black, Asian or from a Minority Ethnic background, who are underrepresented at the University.

We also encourage applications from women for senior roles.

We offer family friendly, flexible working arrangements, with forums and inclusive facilities to support our staff. #EqualityatYork
