Applications are invited for an appointment as Lecturer, Contract type B, Part time - 0.6 FTE in Spanish and Latin American Studies at University of Galway.
The appointee will be an employee of the University of Galway, working in Spanish and Latin American Studies within the School of Languages, Literatures and Cultures. Candidates must have a PhD, demonstrated research expertise and a track record of teaching in at least one of the following areas: Spanish African literature and culture; literature and culture of the Caribbean and Central America; literature and culture of South America. The person appointed must also have a proven record of teaching and related academic administration at undergraduate and postgraduate level.
The appointee will be expected to make a strong contribution to teaching language. They will deliver culture modules at both undergraduate and postgraduate level within the Discipline and will be expected to contribute to the School’s undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. The appointee will also undertake postgraduate supervision and serve on Graduate Research Committees.
The appointee will be expected to contribute to the research culture of the Discipline and School and build on their research profile, developing national and international network links, and producing research of an international standard.

Salary: €64,903 to €103,538 pro rata p.a (applicable to new entrants effective from January, 2011)This appointment will be made on the Lecturer scale in line with current Government pay policy and in accordance with the terms and conditions of the University’s Remuneration policy.
