About the Role
The School of the Arts is looking to appoint a Postdoctoral Research Associate to work closely with Principal Investigators on the child strand of the Generations of London English project. Project website here. The post-holder will undertake research activities to support the ongoing acoustic analysis of a large child speech dataset, and the data collection of an additional timepoint in school, under the supervision of the PIs.
This is a fixed-term and full-time post available due to research grant funding for 4 months only, with an ideally start date of 01 June 2026 (or sooner, if possible).
About You
You must hold a PhD in Linguistics or a related field. You must have prior experience working with large speech datasets, conducting acoustic analyses of child speech, collecting child speech and language data in schools, and writing up research results. You should have excellent communication and organisational skills and maintain a high level of accuracy in your work. You should be able to work both independently and as part of a team and possess strong interpersonal skills to deal professionally with people at all levels.
