Are you an enthusiastic communications professional with a talent for engagement and organisation? Join the Academic Administration Division (AAD) as a Communications Assistant, supporting the Centre for Teaching and Learning and Education Policy Support teams. You will help raise awareness of their services and promote excellence and inclusion in education policy and practice across the University.

Working closely with the Senior Communications Manager, you will support the planning and delivery of communications and engagement activity, including events, campaigns and stakeholder communications that drive awareness and impact. Based in Wellington Square and Littlegate House in central Oxford, you will collaborate with colleagues and students across the collegiate University and contribute to the Communications Community of Practice.

As Communications Assistant, you will support the Centre for Teaching and Learning and Education Policy Support through engaging, accessible communications across websites, digital channels, events and publications.

About the Role

You will contribute significantly to AAD communications by creating clear, engaging content on a wide range of topics and supporting effective communication between the division and its audiences.

Reporting to the Senior Communications Manager – Students and AAD, you will coordinate communications activity across the collegiate University and provide advice and practical support to colleagues. Your work will include drafting and editing content, supporting events and campaigns, updating digital channels and helping monitor engagement and impact.

About You

You bring strong organisational skills and a practical understanding of processes, with the confidence to manage your own workload and coordinate short-term projects. You are comfortable interpreting policies and identifying improvements that enhance communication and service delivery.

An effective communicator, you adapt your style for different audiences and produce accurate, accessible content across print and digital platforms. You have experience drafting and proofreading copy, maintaining websites, scheduling content and using analytics or feedback to evaluate effectiveness.

You build positive working relationships, act as a reliable point of contact for enquiries and collaborate to ensure communications meet accessibility and brand standards. Proactive and detail-focused, you are committed to developing your expertise and contributing to a supportive team environment.
