The Oxford Department of International Development (ODID) is seeking an Administrative Officer who will be working within the Oxford Poverty and Human Development Initiative (OPHI).
The postholder will work closely with the OPHI Executive Director, the Finance and Contracts Officer, other team members and stakeholders within the Department and wider University to deal with a range of administrative matters. The postholder will provide vital support for routine financial matters, global travel, office management, and research grant proposals.
The role will have responsibility for delivering efficient and effective administrative support at an important time in OPHI’s development, providing essential capacity as OPHI expands its research and operational activities.
This post is to cover the absence of the substantive postholder, who is taking a period of maternity leave. The post offered full time until 18 June 2027 or the actual return of the substantive postholder, or the resignation of the substantive postholder and employment of a new postholder, whichever is the earliest.
The successful candidate will have the ability to manage and prioritise a varied workload and work to deadlines. They will also have experience of working on confidential matters; impeccable tact and discretion. A high standard of numeracy; the ability to manage finances, reimbursements, orders are essential for this role.
