The Digital Mental Health Group (https://www.orben.group/) is one of the UK's largest and most influential research teams investigating the impact of digital technologies on youth mental health, with the aim of improving outcomes for children and young people worldwide. We are known for our innovative and rigorous scientific outputs, as well as our direct provision of scientific advice to senior policymakers and politicians.
Our research regularly attracts national and international media attention, making this an exciting opportunity for someone who is enthusiastic about working in a high-profile communications role and helping to amplify research that influences public debate and policy.
Our group currently includes our PI, Professor Amy Orben (https://amyorben.com/), Assistant Research Professor, one Operations and Communications Centre Manger, two Postdoctoral Research Associates, three PhD students, three Research Assistants, one placement student with recruitment planned for three additional Research Associates. We value our team's complimentary skill sets (e.g., differing backgrounds, approaches, and areas of expertise) and actively work with other local and international research groups. Much of our work is team-based and involves work with government, charities, NGOs, policymakers and other stakeholders.
We are seeking a proactive and creative Communications and Operations Coordinator to join the Digital Mental Health Group. This varied role combines communications, digital content and operational administration, supporting a high-profile research programme with strong public and policy engagement. You will help raise the visibility and impact of the Group's work through engaging multi-channel communications while ensuring smooth day-to-day coordination of activities and projects.
You will contribute to website and social media content, develop accessible research communications, and lead the production of short-form video and digital media. Alongside this, you will provide operational support including meeting and event coordination, stakeholder communications, reporting support, and general administration. Working closely with the Operations and Communications Centre Manager and research staff, you will play a key role in delivering communications plans, supporting external engagement, and maintaining effective project operations.
We are looking for someone with experience in communications and administration, strong organisational skills, and confidence creating digital and social media content. You should be comfortable working with a range of stakeholders, managing competing priorities, and presenting complex information in clear, engaging formats. Experience with web content systems and basic video production/editing would be a strong advantage.
This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to impactful research communications and engagement in a collaborative, fast-growing team.
Funding is limited to 2 years in the first instance with the option of possible extension if funding permits.
