The Division of Public Health, Sport and Wellbeing is seeking to appoint a Senior Lecturer in Specialist Community Public Health Nursing (Occupational Health) to join our team as soon as reasonably possible. This role offers flexible hybrid working, with a balance of on‑campus and home working to suit both the individual and the needs of the position.
This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to an innovative programme delivered via distance learning (online) to Occupational Health nursing students across England and Wales. As part of this forward-thinking course team, you will help shape and support vital professional development at a national level. There will also be opportunities to contribute to other programmes within the division, including the Masters in Public Health.
You will be registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council as a nurse or midwife and on the SCPHN register, with professional experience in Occupational Health. While teaching experience is desirable, we also welcome applicants seeking to transition from specialist practice into academia. The faculty provides a supportive framework for colleagues who are new to teaching.
In addition to teaching, the role includes supporting students and practice assessors/supervisors through the practice component of the course, and working with stakeholders to maintain effective communication and strong governance. You will be supported in these responsibilities by the course leader and the wider academic team.
Prospective candidates are warmly invited to contact the Deputy Head of Division, Dr Jean Evers (j.evers@chester.ac.uk), for an informal discussion about the role.
We encourage applications from a diverse range of applicants.
