We are seeking an organised and proactive Student Administrator to support the delivery of Year 5 medical student administration within the Child and Maternal Health theme in the Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology.
This is a varied and rewarding role, supporting the smooth running of student-related processes and helping to ensure a high-quality experience for medical students throughout their training. Working closely with the Course Director and Women's Health team, the postholder will provide administrative support across a range of activities including student communications, timetable management, room bookings, attendance monitoring, course materials, and use of the virtual learning environment (VLE).
The role also involves liaising with colleagues across the School of Clinical Medicine, NHS partners, and other University departments, as well as responding to student queries and supporting the coordination of training delivery across multiple sites. The postholder will contribute to student induction activities, assist with course improvements, and help develop efficient and consistent administrative systems and processes.
The successful candidate will be educated to at least A-level standard or equivalent and will have experience of maintaining office systems and following administrative procedures. They will have strong organisational skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to manage a busy and varied workload with minimal supervision.
You will need to be confident using standard IT packages such as Word and Excel, and be able to communicate clearly and professionally with a wide range of people. A flexible, customer-focused approach is essential, along with the ability to problem solve, prioritise effectively, and remain calm under pressure.
This role would suit someone who is motivated, adaptable, and enjoys working as part of a supportive team in a busy academic environment
