About the role

The Department of Biology is recruiting for a Research Finance and Facilitation Manager. This is a specialist role responsible for providing a complete funding application and grants management service to the Department. This is a senior post, and the holder will be a key member of the Departmental Administration team who will be expected to take on a proactive, hand-on role and lead a small team in the Grants Office to deliver a professional service to the Department. The post holder will lead on strategic matters relating to research funding whilst working closely with the Head of Administration and Finance. The grants office is the interface between (i) academic staff in the department, (ii) Research Services and Research Accounts in the University Administration and Services and (iii) all external funding agencies.

About you

You will be expected to grasp complex issues that affect the management of research in the HEI sector and have a sound understanding of financial processes. This is a busy but exciting role and therefore it is expected that you will have the ability to manage a heavy workload and delegate effectively. 

You will have significant experience in a large customer focused environment with proven and demonstratable skills in financial understanding.
