Your Role:

As a Senior Administrator, you will enjoy a varied and dynamic role, liaising with a wide range of people across the university and with external visitors. You will be the go-to person for Research Funding and Operations matters, providing expert advice and guidance. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Responsibility for the financial administration of the school’s research funded projects/awards, overseeing the provision of effective support for all related expenditure.
  • Maintaining accurate details of internal and externally funded research project applications and outcomes, liaising with the Faculty of Arts Research Accelerator team in relation to project proposals.
  • Support Research Directors to collate, analyse and present research data/information.   
  • Support annual school and university academic processes, such as the school Research Leave (RL) process, maintaining the rota and administering application and final report processes.
  • Provide administrative support for all school research funding schemes to include the processing of applications, award email/guidance, monitoring of expenditure and collation of final reports.
  • Collaborating closely with other Senior Administrators to ensure the smooth operation of the School Office.
  • Providing line management to the Finance and Research Administrator.

What We’re Looking For:

We need a flexible, supportive team player who can juggle tight deadlines and prioritize conflicting tasks. You should have experience in establishing new administrative systems and procedures, alongside managing resources. Key skills include:

  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication abilities.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to work independently.
  • An awareness of Research administration experience is advantageous, but not essential, as full training will be provided.

This post is offered on permanent basis. Hours of work are full-time (36.25)
