About the Role
We are recruiting a Research Administrator to support the NIHR Barts Biomedical Research Centre (BRC), the Barts BioResource and the William Harvey Clinical Research Centre (WHCRC). The role will be responsible for administrative support for a diverse portfolio of programmes and projects. The post also supports HR and Finance duties such as financial transactions, monitoring and reporting on grants, recording absence and sickness and organising meetings and agendas.

About You
You are efficient and effective, with relevant A-Levels, in Science and/or Mathematics. You have extensive experience of providing general administrative/ secretarial support in a fast-paced environment. You bring excellent communication, organisation and prioritisation skills, and have experience of working in higher education and/or NHS. You are IT literate, self-motivated and adaptable.

About the School/Department/Institute/Project
The NIHR Barts BRC, hosted by Barts Health NHS Trust, is part of the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR). It operates as a partnership between Barts Health NHS Trust, Queen Mary University of London, City St George's University of London, and St George’s University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The current BRC iteration includes four research themes across three specialty areas: Cardiovascular (Precision Genomic Medicine & Precision Digital Health, Cardiovascular Devices and Trials), Precision Cancer Care, and Precision Musculoskeletal Care.

The purpose of the Barts BioResource is to establish and grow a dynamic health data repository and linked biobank of consented patients managed by Barts Health NHS Trust to allow research into health and disease. The Barts BioResource relies on the donation of human blood, saliva, swabs, urine, faeces and soft/solid tissue (e.g. blood vessels and heart tissue).

The WHCRC was founded in 1997 and has helped thousands of diverse patients to test and benefit from new therapies. The unit has been top recruiters in practice changing trials.
