This is a great opportunity for new Lifelong Learning Tutor – ESOL to join the University’s External Relations.
The University of Glasgow’s Lifelong Learning team is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated ESOL tutor to deliver high-quality English language courses to a diverse range of learners from the forced migrant community. The role involves teaching both online and in-person, supporting learners from beginner to intermediate levels (A1 to B1) to develop language skills for everyday communication, professional and academic environments. You will have a recognised teaching qualification, experience teaching ESOL to adult learners, ideally in a multicultural setting, and a strong understanding of the challenges faced by members of the forced migrant communities. Courses are delivered year-round and may include evenings and weekends. Additional teaching duties may include teaching general English to university students at B2 and C1 levels.
In this role you will assist and contribute to University language provision by facilitating of the portfolio of ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) and English Language courses within the Lifelong Learning (LLL) team. You will effectively and efficiently undertake the range of duties associated with the ESOL and English Language courses: teaching, assessment and associated administration, to contribute to meeting learning and teaching objectives for these courses.
You will liaise with University staff involved in Sanctuary provision to aid and enable students to progress via ESOL classes to subsequent University provision and study.
