About this role
You will be joining a small and friendly campus environment team, which operates across core parts of the university estate, ensuring it is clean and safe for staff, students and visitors. You will be responsible for maintaining waste and recycling collection points, keeping them tidy and working with external waste contractors to make sure daily collections take place.
The role includes helping us recycle and reuse more of our waste materials, contributing to the university’s sustainability ambitions, as well as ensuring external spaces are clean, safe and welcoming.
About you
You will be a hard-working individual with a passion for great service delivery and teamwork. You will be quick to learn and be happy working manually with waste materials. You will be outdoors much of the time and be expected to work in all weathers. A flexible approach to work is essential as you may at times be required to assist in a wide range of tasks as part of the wider sustainability team.
This is a permanent part time role for 22.5hrs per week. In addition, you will be required to assist with UWE open days, Welcome Weekend or when extreme weather events occur, which will be paid as overtime.

As this is a dynamic role, there may be occasions where you will be asked to begin your working day at our other UWE campuses based in Bristol.

This is a part-time, permanent post, working 22.5 hours per week.
