The role
The Electrical & Electronic workshop is looking for a dynamic multi-skilled technician to assist with our activities in supporting a wide range of clients within the faculty. The role will involve varied tasks in the electrical, electronic & mechanical domains, and contact with under-graduates, research and faculty staff.
What will you be doing?
- Build equipment both electrically and mechanically for the electrical workshop from drawings, concepts or instruction in line with the relevant legislation and University Procedures.
- Install equipment both electrically and mechanically for the electrical workshop in line with the relevant legislation and University Procedures.
- Operating, servicing, maintenance and calibration of workshop equipment including soldering irons, hand and power tools, multimeters, PAT testers and specialist equipment.
- Diagnose and rectify basic electrical / electronic problems to find short and long-term solutions.
