About the role
The postholder will be affiliated with the Structural Genomics Consortium (SGC), an international biomedical research charity that focuses on understanding human biology through protein science and the discovery of small molecule protein modulators (“chemical probes”). A major theme of the SGC in the next five years will be to accelerate greatly the discovery of small molecule binders for novel protein classes as part of the SGC’s Target 2035 initiative (https://www.thesgc.org/target2035). The current role is part of the recent EU-funded Ligand-AI project within Target2035 (https://www.ucl.ac.uk/news/2026/jan/ai-driven-drug-discovery-project-launches-eu60m-budget). This role is a major component of growing this project as a global collaboration.
We will consider applications to work on part-time, flexible and job share basis wherever possible.
In the first instance, this post will run up until the 31/05/2030.
About you
We are seeking someone with extensive experience in working collaboratively, the ability to present clearly to an audience, the ability to write up summaries of outcomes to a high level and the ability to travel. The successful candidate will be a highly organised individual with outstanding initiative and with a track record in a relevant scientific discipline.
