Two exciting opportunities have arisen to join our Student Journey and Support Services Division as an Engagement Officer. These roles play a vital part in supporting students whose attendance or engagement is below expected levels, ensuring they receive timely guidance and access to the support they need to succeed.
As an Engagement Officer, you will work with students who have been identified through our Student Engagement Procedure. You will reach out to students whose engagement is causing concern, explore any barriers impacting their studies, and help signpost them to appropriate support services including wellbeing, academic, and pastoral teams. You will also monitor students who continue not to meet required parameters and ensure these concerns are flagged to the relevant School or Embedded Team colleagues.
You will be responsible for reviewing and interpreting attendance and engagement data, liaising with Schools to understand their parameters, and identifying students who require additional follow‑up. Attention to detail, and excellent communication skills will be key as you provide clear, supportive, and accurate advice to students at key points in their academic journey.
These roles also include maintaining accurate records, responding proactively to enquiries, and delivering high‑quality customer service to staff and students across a range of channels. You will play an important role in presenting a positive image of the University, tailoring messages appropriately and ensuring students feel informed and supported throughout their engagement.
We are looking for a motivated and well‑organised individuals who are confident working with data, comfortable communicating with a diverse range of students, and committed to providing an excellent level of service. Experience working in a customer‑focused environment would be an advantage.
