About the role:
Join the National Heart & Lung Institute (NHLI) at Imperial College London as the Project Manager for an exciting and expanding pulmonary hypertension (PH) research portfolio. This is a unique opportunity to support high‑profile translational and data‑driven research programmes, including the My Heart Counts BHF Programme Grant, the Imperial PH Biobank, and multi‑institution collaborations with partners such as Google, Apple, Regeneron, and the BHF Data Science Centre.
What you would be doing:
As Project Manager, you will oversee the daily operational management of pulmonary hypertension research projects, ensuring milestones are achieved within agreed timelines and scope. You'll coordinate the preparation, submission, and management of HRA/MHRA ethics documentation with governance teams, act as a primary liaison for internal collaborators, clinicians, industry partners, and external academic groups, and supervise logistics such as biological material shipments with lab and biobank teams. Responsibilities also include supporting financial management and funder report preparation, planning and delivering project meetings, workshops, and stakeholder communications, contributing to grant proposals by managing timelines, budgets, and documents, as well as maintaining project websites and communication channels.
What we are looking for:
- Proven experience in project management in research, clinical, or academic settings.
- Experience managing NHS/HRA ethics applications and regulatory submissions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organisational skills with ability to prioritise and adapt to changing demands.
- Experience working with diverse stakeholders across academia, industry, and healthcare.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- High attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information.
- Competence with Microsoft Office applications.
