Birkbeck, University of London, is looking for a Programme Administrator on a full-time, permanent basis this Spring 2026. 

As a Programme Administrator, joining the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, you will collaborate closely with academic staff and professional services teams. You will take on a variety of key responsibilities including:

  • Supporting the delivery programmes of study, dealing effectively with college processes, systems and procedures.
  • Addressing student queries and concerns sympathetically and effectively, in all cases, following college policies and procedures to ensure a consistent and high-quality student experience.
  • Actively supporting student success and wellbeing, ensuring they have the resources and guidance they need.
  • Providing administrative support and supporting Faculty activities.

To be successful as a Programme Administrator, you will:

  • Be flexible and able to work independently and as part of a team on a variety of projects, using strong organisational skills.
  • Be able to work collaboratively and cultivate excellent working relationships.
  • Possess excellent communication skills, a keen eye for detail, and have a solid background in administration, ideally within an educational setting.
  • Be comfortable using a variety of electronic systems (e.g. Microsoft Office 365, Teams, SITS student records, Moodle etc), although training will be provided.

This opportunity at Birkbeck would build on experience as: Programme Officer, Research Degrees Officer, Course Administrator, Education Administrator. This role requires two days a week on site at the university's office in Bloomsbury, London.

Contract
