We have an exceptional opportunity for an experienced and strategic events professional to join Imperial Business School as Senior Events Marketing Manager. This pivotal role leads the development and delivery of a high-impact events portfolio that supports student recruitment, enhances faculty visibility, and reinforces the School’s reputation for thought leadership and innovation.

Reporting to the Director of Marketing, the post holder will oversee a diverse calendar of events across physical, digital, and hybrid formats. These events are designed to engage key audiences including prospective students, faculty, alumni, corporate partners, and policy stakeholders. You will lead a specialist function within the Marketing team, line-managing the Events Marketing Manager and collaborating with colleagues across the School and wider College.

What you would be doing:

  • Lead the development and execution of a data-informed, insight-led event strategy aligned with student recruitment and brand visibility goals.
  • Oversee the delivery of a dynamic events programme including open days, information sessions, webinars, and thought leadership events.
  • Ensure a consistent, high-quality attendee experience across all formats, with a strong focus on innovation, accessibility, and measurable outcomes.
  • Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders (e.g. Recruitment, Admissions, Academic Faculty, Alumni, Research Centres) to align event delivery with institutional priorities.
  • Line manage the Events Marketing Manager, providing strategic guidance, coaching, and development.
  • Maintain oversight of event platforms, branding, materials, and supplier relationships to ensure consistency and value.
  • Champion data capture and compliance, ensuring event reporting informs continuous improvement and strategic decision-making.

What we are looking for:

  • Significant experience leading high-profile events in a complex organisation, with demonstrable strategic and operational impact.
  • Expertise across physical, hybrid, and digital event formats.
  • Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and priorities.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience of evaluating event performance and making data-driven improvements.
  • Line management experience and a collaborative leadership style.
  • A solution-focused mindset and commitment to innovation in event delivery and audience engagement.
  • Familiarity with CRM platforms, event platforms, and digital marketing tools.
  • A clear understanding of the role of events in supporting recruitment, research dissemination, and brand building within the higher education context

Further Information

This is a for full time, fixed-term position for 12 months based at our South Kensington campus.

This is a temporary appointment to cover the duties of a member of staff whilst they are on maternity leave. The fixed term tenure given above may change should the member of staff exercise their right to return to work earlier or delay their return to work.
