Job description:
We have an exciting opportunity for an excellent researcher with a track record in biomedical sensing engineering to join us for a career establishment research fellowship.
The fellowship is aligned with the Insigneo institute: Insigneo Institute | The University of Sheffield and the CHIMES2 network of heterogenous chip design and has been fully funded by a philanthropic donation to the university.
The successful candidate will take forward their own programme of transformative research in the engineering and applications of novel biomedical sensing technologies that are underpinned by state-of-the art electrical and electronic engineering research.
The candidate will have the opportunity to work closely with a network of collaborators working on development and application of novel medical devices and sensing technologies across the Insigneo institute, CHIMES2 and the Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre and will benefit from collaborative opportunities for clinical testing and evaluation with Insigneo partners at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals and Sheffield Children’s Hospitals.
Who we are looking for
We are seeking candidates with a good Honours degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics (or equivalent) and a PhD / post doctoral experience in Medical Sensing Engineering (or equivalent).
A proven track record of high-quality scientific publications and demonstrated evidence in working in a multi-disciplinary team is essential. Previous experience in the supervision of PhD students and technical staff is desirable.
