About the Role
Queen Mary University of London is seeking an exceptional leader for the role of Vice President (Education). You will shape the strategic and policy context and priorities for education across the University, lead on education quality, student experience and outcomes and drive improvements and innovation to education and academic leadership. You will be accountable for the University’s submission to the Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF), as well as relevant input to reputational measures which include assessment of educational quality and outcomes.
The Vice President (Education) is a key member of Queen Mary’s executive, working as part of the team to support the President and Principal in the day-to-day running of the University. This includes delivering the education pillar of the 2030 Strategy to create an outstanding, inclusive, world-class education and student experience, leading to graduate level employment both nationally and internationally, co-created with our diverse student body, enhanced by our world-leading research and supported by the latest technological developments.
You will have overall accountability for the quality of teaching, student experience and student outcomes, and are expected to bring strong leadership and expertise to ensure that Queen Mary maintains its reputation for high quality education and graduate employability and that this is reflected in rankings and TEF outcomes.
About you
You will have a strong academic background, together with relevant experience of delivering improvements and innovation in education supporting student experience, student outcomes and can demonstrate how this has (or has demonstrable potential to be) translated into strong or improved NSS and TEF in a UK HEI setting. Experience of developing, leading and successfully implementing strategic initiatives within a complex multi-site, multi-disciplinary and international environment is also essential.
