About the Role
Applications are sought for a Postdoctoral Research Associate to use multi-omic analyses of relevant in vitro skin models to explore how the cellular and molecular features of palmoplantar skin shape its physiology. Palmoplantar skin, on palms and soles, is a uniquely adapted and distinctive skin site affected by a range of lifelong, painful, chronic inherited disorders, such as palmoplantar keratoderma (PPK) and yet, in contrast to body skin, it is relatively poorly understood. This project will build on our previous studies on PPK and iRhom2 (PMID:28128203, PMID:29523849, PMID:38183983) using cutting-edge genomics technologies (https://www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1101/2024.12.20.629444v5) to provide core knowledge for development of new therapies and management strategies for PPK.
About You
Applicants for this Postdoctoral Research Associate post are expected to have a PhD plus some post-doctoral research experience in cell and molecular biology combined with bioinformatic analysis of large DNA- and RNA-seq datasets. Experience with performing and analysing ChIP-seq experiments and an interest in skin biology are desirable.
