The University of London Careers Service is recruiting a Careers Consultant to work with our postgraduate research students based at the School of Advanced Study. We are looking to hire one fixed term maternity cover post for 2 days a week (0.4 FTE) for 12 months from August 2026 to August 2027.
This is an exciting opportunity to join an award-winning, dynamic and innovative Careers team. As a University of London Careers Consultant, you will work in collaboration with the wider University of London Careers Service team, School of Advanced Study colleagues and University of London colleagues, to design and deliver the highest possible standard of careers and employability support to our students and clients
The School of Advanced Study at the University of London brings together eight internationally renowned research institutes to form the UK's national centre for the support of researchers and the promotion of research in the humanities. The School provides a research base for an international community of humanities and social science scholars and provides specialist research training at master's, doctoral, and postdoctoral levels - locally, nationally, and internationally. The work with this cohort involves one to one guidance appointments and delivering webinars and workshops to this audience of research students.
University of London Careers Consultants also collaborate with colleagues from across The University of London Careers Service on activities that enhance the quality and effectiveness of our services.
We are looking for candidates who have experience within Higher Education careers and employability services and have a relevant qualification in careers guidance or coaching.
