Hours: Full Time
Contract Type: Permanent
Placed On: 27th April 2026

The University of Aberdeen is committed to providing high‑quality, inclusive support for all students, ensuring they can fully engage with their studies and university life. The increasing number of disabled students, and the expansion of inclusive practice requirements across the sector, have resulted in growing expectations and complexity within disability support provision.

We are seeking to appoint a Student Support Manager (Disability & Inclusion) to lead our disability and specialist support provision, ensuring we continue to meet our legal obligations under the Equality Act 2010 and deliver on our commitments under the Aberdeen 2040 strategy.

This role will play a critical part within Student Support Services, providing specialist leadership, oversight of complex casework, and management of service delivery and resources. The role will also play an important part of the Student Support Management Team, with responsibilities relating to the development of the operation and policies linked to the University’s support for disabled students, and the wider student population. The postholder will also support the wider teams in Student Support Services through the provision of duty manager cover to support the team on escalations and the management of crisis situations.

The Student Support Manager (Disability & Inclusion) will have operational responsibility for the University's provision of study-related support for disabled students, leading a team of specialist Advisers overseeing the delivery of high quality, person centred services to disabled students. This includes management of complex cases and complaints, implementation of reasonable adjustments, ensuring compliance with legal duties, and driving forward inclusive practice.

Salary will be at the appropriate point on the Grade 7 scale, £47,389 - £56,535 per annum, and negotiable with placement according to qualifications and experience.

Informal enquiries should be made to Jemma Murdoch, Acting Head of Student Support Services
