Job description:
We have an exciting opportunity in the White Rose Doctoral Training Partnership (WRDTP), based in the Faculty of Social Sciences, for someone with a passion for working in a fast paced vibrant team that works collaboratively across seven institutions, to join us as an WRDTP Operations Assistant.
We are looking for someone with excellent office/IT and customer service skills, effective communication skills, attention to detail, and a willingness to work collaboratively with other team members and other stakeholders/ partners in a professional manner and the ability to organise own workload, prioritise tasks to meet deadlines and undertake and complete tasks with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail. Key duties will include support for the delivery of training and events and related processes (e.g. a Development Needs Analysis process), financial administration tasks, website management and updates, managing the WRDTP social media accounts, acting as secretary for the WRDTP Postgraduate Research Committee, maintaining databases/records. You will work closely with our Training Officer, and also provide support (as required) to the WRDTP Director, WRDTP Manager and Placements Manager. As this role involves working across higher education institutions, experience/knowledge of working in the HE sector, ideally within an administrative/professional services setting would also be beneficial.
The WRDTP is a doctoral research training centre in the social sciences. We support the allocation of funding and delivery of research training for PhD students across 7 partner universities - University of Sheffield, University of Leeds, University of York, University of Bradford, University of Hull, Manchester Metropolitan University and Sheffield Hallam University. Based at the University of Sheffield, we work closely with academic and professional services colleagues across partner universities.
