College of Science & Engineering
This post is full time (35 hours per week) and fixed term for up 5.5 months in the first instance.
In this role, the successful candidate will work on an EPSRC Impact Acceleration Account-funded project to develop testing modules for high-throughput characterisation and integrated circuit design based on thin-film electronics, transistors and sensors. The project will enable the acceleration of materials to market and making electrical characterisation more accessible for materials scientists, chemists, and physicists.
The postholder should have experience with the design, fabrication or testing of transistors and transistor-based circuits, but also practical engineering skills. They will take a leading role in the development of testing modules that will be sent to project partners and stakeholders and iterate on module design based on their feedback.
As a key member in a translational project, they will have opportunities to engage with market research training, R&D at a higher technology readiness level (TRL) than fundamental research, and contribute to generating new intellectual property (IP).
The successful candidate will also be expected to contribute to the formulation and submission of research publications and research proposals as well as help manage and direct this complex and challenging project as opportunities allow.
Informal enquiries should be directed to Benjamin King at Benjamin.King@glasgow.ac.uk or Mahmoud Wagih at Mahmoud.Wagih@glasgow.ac.uk
