About the role
The Department of Electronic & Electrical Engineering require a Senior Electronics Technician to work as part of a team of multi skilled technical staff providing high quality support for the teaching and research programmes within the Department of Electronic & Electrical Engineering. Skills provided by the team include the use and configuration of electronic and electrical circuit design, testing and construction, electrical safety testing and inspection (PAT). The post holder will provide technical guidance and support in the design, development and realisation of experimental systems & prototypes relating to the student / teaching needs of our degree programmes.
In particular, the post holder will provide technical skills in areas such as electronics, PCB design, embedded system programming, real-time controller development and sensor / actuator selection and integration. The post holder will be closely involved in both established and developing projects in areas including robotics, power systems, biomechanics and low carbon energy.
About you
Applicants should ideally have served a recognised electronics engineering / technical apprenticeship or graduate training programme and should be qualified to a minimum of A-level or equivalent (ideally to HND or Degree level) in electronics or a closely related subject and have experience of working within an electronics or electrical workshop, laboratory or research environment.

This full time post is offered on an open ended contract with a commencing salary of £ 31,236 rising to £ 37,694 per annum through annual increments.
