The Role
We are recruiting to a broadly-based role of Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Politics on a fixed term basis to deliver a variety of undergraduate and postgraduate courses in the area of Politics and International Relations.
We will be seeking a candidate with a PhD in Politics or Politics and International Relations and would particularly value knowledge and teaching experience in politics and political science in both domestic and overseas contexts, global governance and security, as well the more practical areas of leadership, communications and international crisis management.
This is a teaching-focussed role, and key responsibilities will include the preparation and delivery of high-quality, interactive teaching and associated assessment, working to develop a strong Politics IR cohort identity, promoting employability skills and identifying suitable guest speakers and possible trips, and supervising undergraduate and MA projects.
The successful candidate will also have experience in the positive use of AI and other online tools pertinent to the subject area, the use of one or more VLEs, attendance monitoring, and academic integrity systems.
